Synopsis

Virtual reality has positioned itself as a technology with a disruptive approach in areas such as education, organizational training and cultural dissemination, allowing the use of new inclusive teaching procedures with the aim of overcoming existing physical and geographical barriers. The present study employs a quantitative methodological approach, with a descriptive and cross-sectional scope, carried out with the purpose of measuring the level of knowledge of the 3 sectors studied: educational, cultural and organizational towards virtual reality. For data collection, structured surveys adapted to each sector studied were created, through which the following hypothesis was tested: “The implementation of virtual reality in teaching processes transforms traditional educational methods in a disruptive way, by improving the learning experience, increasing knowledge retention and facilitating the interaction of emerging technologies in the educational, cultural and organizational sectors”. The results evidence a high level of interest from the sectors studied in incorporating virtual reality as a disruptive teaching tool, although a significant gap persists between interest and practical experience. These findings highlight both the disruptive purpose of virtual reality over traditional teaching methods as well as the need for strategies that promote the use of virtual reality as a disruptive teaching tool.
