Chapter 1 - Digital Applications for Active Learning at CETIS 15, CBTIS 48 and CBTIS 190 Campuses
Synopsis
The present study addresses the impact of active methodologies in the context of Higher Secondary Education in Mexico. This arises from the need to explore the most recent transformations in the teaching-learning process and improve the understanding of emerging technologies to which it is necessary to respond in order to offer more enriching educational experiences. The objective is to conduct a comprehensive analysis that seeks to identify the benefits of digital applications in active learning in CETIS 15, CBTIS 48 and CBTIS 190. The present research is quantitative and included 60 teachers and 400 students from three different Higher Secondary Education campuses within the subsystem of the General Directorate of Industrial and Service Technological Education (DGETI): Industrial and Service Technological High School 190, (CBTIS 190), Industrial and Service Technological High School 48 (CBTIS 48) and Industrial and Service Technological Studies Centers 15, (CETIS 15). Some indicators of how the use of digital tools improves the teaching-learning processes were obtained, among which are the promotion of active learning, collaboration and critical thinking among students. Although today brings with it various technological tools, it is essential that teachers implement their use and control to ensure that content and technologies are used responsibly and enhance educational processes, without generating biases in teaching and learning.
