Synopsis

Introduction: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in educational fields has increased in recent years. Beyond all the benefits it offers, there are significant challenges in its indiscriminate use that teachers now have to face in the classroom. Objective: To analyze different strategies to help teachers identify the use of AI in the outputs resulting from activities derived from active methodologies. Methods: A causal analysis was employed to identify and understand, in different scientific publications, the use of AI in outputs produced by students. Strategies were collected and proposed, such as analyzing writing style and using digital tools for AI detection. A qualitative analysis was conducted by applying surveys to teachers at the CENTRO DE BACHILLERATO TECNOLÓGICO industrial y de servicios No. 085, to determine the before and after of skill development. Results: Knowing and applying strategies to identify the use of AI reduces evaluation time by improving plagiarism detection, helps contextualize the level of use by students, and enhances active feedback. Conclusion: Teachers who know and apply strategies for identifying the use of AI improve their skills in detecting and preventing its indiscriminate misuse in students' work. Furthermore, it helped them differentiate between work done with understanding and work done without cognitive effort. This promoted interest in teacher updates to focus students on good practices and make the most of its benefits.
