Synopsis

In recent years, the widespread availability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed the teaching-learning process, thus becoming a relevant topic of study. This research aimed to determine university students' perception of AI as an essential component of the academic resources they interact with during their professional training. The research has a quantitative approach, a non-experimental-cross-sectional design, and a descriptive scope. The context is limited to an entity of the University of Veracruz, in the Veracruz Region, which offers two bachelor's degrees in Business Management and Accounting. We revisit the instrument we used to measure The Impact of the Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Professional Training in 2024, which consists of six constructs; for the present research, we only used three constructs (university infrastructure, teaching, and curricula) to achieve this objective. The tool is a survey applied to 506 students out of the 1,133 enrolled in two educational programs. The reliability of the three constructs is 0.82, which we obtained using the Cronbach's alpha algorithm. The findings reveal that students use bibliographic resources through the virtual library and that teachers are trained to incorporate educational platforms that positively impact students. However, they do not yet appreciate the implementation of generative AI in the teaching-learning process, nor have they seen their curricula enriched by the integration of this tool. Based on the results, we suggest including workshops as a free resource to acquire digital skills and use Artificial Intelligence appropriately to improve achievement and develop valuable skills in their professional environment.
